Ops Suite
Ops Suite brings the checks, tests, and documentation around your PowerShell script into the desktop workbench. These tools support deliberate review and preparation; the sequence is not automatic and is not an approval or execution pipeline.
Environment and Risk Review
- Environment Doctor — Check environment readiness before working through a PowerShell task.
- Impact preview — Review potential effects before executing a script.
- Credential leak detection — Help identify potential exposed credentials in scripts.
- Compatibility checks — Review potential compatibility issues before using a script in its intended environment.
Tests and Documentation
- Pester test generation — Generate Pester tests as a starting point for validating script behavior.
- Runbook generation — Generate operational documentation to support repeatable execution and handoff.
- Rollback guidance — Prepare guidance for responding when a planned change needs to be reversed.
Modernization and Packaging
- Script modernization — Get help updating existing PowerShell scripts.
- Packaging — Use packaging tools as part of preparing scripts for use or distribution.
- Dependency review — Review dependencies that matter to preparing and using a script.
Data and Recurring Work
- CSV mapping — Use CSV mapping tools to prepare data-driven scripting workflows.
- Scheduling — Use scheduling tools to prepare recurring PowerShell tasks.
- Certification tools — Use the product's certification tools; the meaning and output of a result depend on the confirmed product behavior.
Illustrative workflow: Prepare your next onboarding script with more context.
This is an example workflow. The operator performs and reviews each step; the sequence is illustrative, not an automatic pipeline. Generated tests and guidance still require validation in an appropriate environment.
- Build or open the PowerShell script in Work.
- Use CSV mapping to prepare the input mapping.
- Review environment, compatibility, dependency, and potential credential issues with the relevant Ops tools.
- Review potential impact and address findings.
- Generate Pester tests and review and run them in an appropriate test environment.
- Generate a runbook and review rollback guidance for the planned operation.
